The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Tuesday, March 3
- Police received a call for suspicious vehicle in the area of Weaver and Laclede Station. A witness saw a man exit a Volkswagen and approach a vehicle which was left running. A witness confronted him, at which time the male ran back to the awaiting Volkswagen. The suspicious vehicle then fled the area. A computer inquiry on the license plate provided by the witness indicated the Volkswagen was stolen from another jurisdiction.
- Police arrested a 24-year-old man for shoplifting approximately $165 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. When police tried to stop the suspect, he ran from officers and entered another Maplewood Commons business. Police soon found him hiding in the business. The suspect was also charged with resisting arrest by flight.
- Police arrested a 34-year-old man for shoplifting approximately $125 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. He was also charged with a drug violation which was discovered on him at the time of the arrest.
Wednesday, March 4
- Two juveniles were taken into custody for stealing more than a thousand dollars in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
Friday, March 6
- Police responded to the 7200 block of Anna for a reported domestic disturbance. Police made contact with a 27-year-old man and 23-year-old woman who said they were arguing. Both subjects were wanted by other agencies for active warrants and subsequently arrested for the warrants.
Saturday, March 7
- Police arrested a 31-year-old man on domestic assault charges in the 3400 block of Greenwood. The suspect assaulted several other family members at the residence.
- Police arrested a 49-year-old man for shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
Sunday, March 8
- Police arrested a 38-year-old man for stealing approximately $200 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
- Police arrested a 52-year-old man for shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
- Police arrested a 32-year-old man for shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. Police will be seeking felony charges due to the suspect’s prior theft history.
Update: Jeffrey Moutray, 33, of Maplewood was charged with first degree burglary in the theft of about $15,000 in property stolen in the 2600 block of Lyle.
