Union Pacific Railroad has placed warning markers on both sides of the tracks at Sutton Boulevard. That’s following a January 5 incident when a man accidentally turned onto the tracks and narrowly escaped before a train came.
It is a horn free zone. As a resident who lives two blocks away I really hope they don’t change that. Not sure how a horn would have prevented either of the last two incidents. The markers may help prevent an incident like the last one where an unaware driver confused the tracks for the road.
No expense was spared!!!
At 4p on 1/17, one of the markers was lying on its side about 100-150 yards down the track.

That 2nd picture shows exactly how effective those are lol
If the “cone” can be knocked over how does it warn a driver ?
They have visual reflectors. It’s not a barrier, more a visual indicator
What happens if one of them ends up on the tracks. Could it cause a derailment?
No
