The Shakespeare Festival St. Louis production, ‘Remember Me,’ on Sutton Boulevard was a big success, judging from the crowds. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch estimated 1,700 came to the Saturday night show.
Maplewood’s ‘ghosts’ were featured as oversized puppets. Some were the 10-foot-tall ‘matron’ ghost that floated down Sutton, John F. Kennedy, who visited Maplewood in the early 60s and Vito Ponticello, father of the sisters who own Mystic Valley New Age Gifts in Maplewood. The three sisters had parts in the play.
One of the players, Phyllis Thorpe, is inviting anyone who saw or were part of the production to come to the Stone Spiral Coffee and Curios, at 2500 Sutton, to discuss the show and share their stories about Maplewood on Thursday, September 22, from 5-6 p.m.

The band plays, following the performance on Saturday.
I bought the cd of the band I enjoyed them so much. Doug I think you were mentioned the most in the play!
It was a perfect night Saturday night and I wish we would do something like that again. What a great way to celebrate our town.
BTW, I have never heard any ghost stories about Maplewood in my 39 years of living here. Although when I was a kid in Richmond Heights my brother used to scare me with stories of the Maplewood wolfman.
Thanks for sharing the band video. I was hoping I could hear that tune again. And the play was by far the best thing I’ve ever experienced on Sutton!
