The Brentwood Police Department announced on Friday that Officer Tom Beil retired as a reserve police officer on Friday.
Beil served under six different police chiefs, beginning with Chief Pete Giacopelli, according to the department. He was available to back-up an officer on a call, assist with traffic direction and handle assignments, and received no paycheck.
From the police department: “We will miss Tom. We will miss his cheerful demeanor and genuine laugh. Tom retired from his real job, as a teacher in the Ferguson-Florissant school district, several years ago. He and his wife, Connie, are moving to a sunny climate in a few weeks. We wish you both all the best.”
In Richmond Heights, The Heights staff celebrated the retirement of one of its first custodians. “Earl has been a loyal employee for over 14 years so it is safe to say that he will be missed,” The Heights posted on Facebook.
