The city of Richmond Heights reported in its weekly email newsletter on Monday that Richmond Heights Chief of Police Roy Wright is retiring, after 43 years of service with the city.
Wright’s last day will be Friday, December 16. He served the city as a 911 dispatcher in 1973 until he went to the police academy the following year. Fourteen years later he was promoted to sergeant, then captain, and then major in 2007.
Wright has been serving as chief since 2012, when Rick Vilcek retired from the post.
Thank you for your service to our community. Our family wishes you the very best in your retirement.
