Richmond Heights officials on Monday approved a permit for a new restaurant at the corner of Ethel Avenue and Big Bend Boulevard.
Ha Tron, Richmond Heights resident and owner of Beautiful Nails, in Richmond Heights, got city approval to open a Vietnamese restaurant at 7494 Ethel Avenue.
In his application, Tron said he bought the house, and the property to the south for a parking lot, in 2012. He said he couldn’t remodel the property for the past three years because of MSD sewer work.
He plans to offer Vietnamese rice dishes, noodles, sandwiches, coffee, beer and wine for lunch and dinner, according to his application.
“My family and I been doing business and love to continue to do business in Richmond Heights and I will do my best to make the property upgrade [sic] for the neighbors and the city of Richmond Heights,” Tron said in his application.
The renovation will be a gut rehab, a city building department employee said.
This is great news. I wonder if parking will be an issue…? We love Mai Lee, but we’re more than willing to share the love with another local-owned establishment. My friendly advice to the owner would be to go all out! There is very stiff competition in the restaurant biz. If you halfa$$ this, the Yelpers will call your bluff. Best of luck. I’m excited for this!
Good luck! That building has been an eye sore ever since it was a pet store years ago.
I wonder if any of the mice that they had at the pet store still live in that place.
Sounds great. Can’t wait to try it.
Yay! More independent, small businesses in Richmond Heights, please!
Looking forward to more outdoor dining in the neighborhood.
If the restaurant fails he can always turn that house back into residential I guess.
Yum, I hope there’s pho!
