Rock Hill Aldermen Tuesday passed a funding agreement with Novus Development that cleared the way for a Lucky’s Market to be built at McKnight Shopping Center, according to STL Today.
The agreement creates a community improvement district (CID) with a special sales tax of up to 1 percent.
Jonathan Browne, president of Novus, said shoppers will still come out ahead at Lucky’s even if the tax goes to the maximum 1 percent. Browne called Lucky’s a “low-priced Whole Foods,” STL Today reports.
Lucky’s Market, based in Boulder, CO, focuses on fresh, healthful foods.
