Maria Arobasso lived in Maplewood until the fourth grade. She now lives in Affton, but is returning to Maplewood as the owner of Modesta Salons.
Arobasso has been a hair dresser in a rented space at Salon Lofts in Clayton for 10 years. Starting July she’ll have her own address, at 3528-1 Greenwood Boulevard in Maplewood. She said one of her old employees returned and said he wanted to work with her, and that gave her the motivation to start looking for a space of her own.
A business owner on Sutton Boulevard referred her to Maplewood architect and building owner Patrick Jugo, who was in the process of renovating a building on Greenwood Boulevard. “It was awesome because I got in here before he did anything so we built it out specifically for my needs,” Arobasso said.
She said her clients are excited to be in a bigger space. “They know I’ve been trying to do this for years,” she said.
She said the door will be open July 4. The grand opening is July 14, the same day as Let Them Eat Art in Maplewood. She, her employees and some of her clients plan to be in the Let Them Eat Art parade.
Thank you!!!! I’m so excited!!!
So proud of this girl! She will be a great fit in Maplewood, I’ve known her for 15 years…this is her dream coming true. So happy she hooked up with Patrick. I assisted them in the purchase of their first home and on to their second home!
Welcome to Maplewood!
