Brentwood Chief of Police Dan Fitzgerald made these posts on his informational department website, The Chief’s Desk. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday July 7

  • An officer responded to a residence in the 2300 block of St. Clair Avenue for a theft from a vehicle. An I-pod and other electronic items were taken from the unlocked vehicle overnight.

Tuesday, July 8

  • At 2:10 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle speeding southbound on Brentwood Boulevard. After investigating the officer determined that the driver possessed marijuana. The 19-year-old Fenton man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Wednesday, July 9

  • At 10:24 a.m. an officer took a report of a leaving the scene of an accident on northbound Brentwood Boulevard at Manchester. A red pick-up truck struck the back of a white Volvo sedan, and left traveling westbound on Manchester Road.

Chief of Police Dan Fitzgerald also mentions the National Night Out, on August 5 at the Brentwood Swim Club from 5:30 – 8 p.m. (Maplewood’s night out will be later in the summer.)

There will be hot dogs, lemonade, attendance prizes, and best of all, swimming on a hot summer night. National Night Out is a great way to talk with members of the police department about what is happening in your neighborhood. This is always a fun community event, Fitzgerald reports.

  1. Need better food/drink for the NNO. Is it too much to ask to have hamburgers, soda/tea, pasta salad/potato salad?
