Work has begun on improvements to Sutton Loop Park. The plan will add a sidewalk and additional plantings around the perimeter of the park, and leave the large center area untouched, according to an employee with Ideal Landscaping on the site on Thursday. He said it will take about two months, weather permitting.

The city council passed the plan at the March 25 meeting.photo 1

    • Haven’t you noticed? Ironically, the city of MAPLEwood loves to cut down mature trees. A few people in City Hall seem to have an irrational fear of them falling down. Maybe there’s some sort of childhood trauma involved. But seriously – I agree with you. It’s a shame to cut down any tree, much less one in a green space.

  1. I would have waited until after Taste of Maplewood to start the work, and have that space available to people.
