The owners of the cooking and specialty food shop, Tale to Table, at 7310 Manchester Road, announced Monday on Facebook that they have decided to close the store at the end of the year. They say it has been a challenging year, and encourage holiday shopping there. They also imply that they have plans for a future shop.
The Facebook announcement:
Dear Friends and Supporters,
We’ve come to the difficult decision of closing Tale to Table, at the end of the year.
We are open now through Christmas, and have many great gifts and tons of cookbooks available for the holiday season, as well as our incredible tinned fish collection, our coast-to-coast salami selection, and an assortment of our favorite cheeses. We will continue to restock these, and also local favorites like Stringbean Coffee, Big Heart Tea, and Louise’s Granola, throughout the month.
Over the past five years we’ve shared with you our tastings and pairing and events, welcomed you into a shared space of the stories and foods and cultures of Spain, Portugal, Italy, and elsewhere. We made with you hundreds of pizzas, dozens of giant paellas, and countless gnocchi and pasta shapes. We hope you’ve come away with as much love and learning from those experiences as we have.
It has indeed been a challenging year, so as we wind down the events and focus on great gifts and tasty items through December, we absolutely need your support — please come see us for your local holiday shopping.
After Christmas we will start a new adventure, closing out absolutely everything in the shop. Look to Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist soon for the larger appliances and other specialty items.
You won’t see Lediana, our giant paella pan, on any of those listings, because she and some other items will be resting up, preparing for whatever is coming up next.
Thank you for your support, and we’ll see you in the shop.
Kate and Brian
