Elmer Teson was putting up for sale signs Wednesday afternoon at the site of the former family business, Teson Farms, at 8419 Manchester Road. It went out of business five years ago this summer. Teson said the big boxes put them out of business.
The lot is ready for development; the house was demolished and removed last month. Teson said it’s about three quarters of an acre and they’re asking $425,000. He said only a small corner in the front is affected by floods.
My dog will miss the ground hogs that had taken residence under the house. I saved a section of white picket fence the day before demolition. It resides proudly in my garden, ahhh… memories. I’ll miss the place.
I miss them. I have a number of plants in my yard from there. They were more affordable than Garden Heights.
Their high prices is what put them out of business, not big box. I would have bought a lot more there if I could have afforded it. Just saying…
I always bought my vegetable plants from them, I was so sorry to see it closed…. Another land mark gone… I still shop local… I hate the big box stores
I call Bull. Grew up on Helen. The entire property is affected by floods. It doesn’t happen a lot, but when it does, like 08, the water can come all the way up to the first house on Helen (Also formerly owned by Teson).
