The Book House owner Michelle Barron cut the ribbon of her new Maplewood store (7352 Manchester Road) along with the Maplewood Chamber of Commerce Tuesday, after a move from the store’s former location in Rock Hill.
Barron is renovating the new space in phases. Part of the street level floor is open, with about a third of her books on shelves. The basement space still needs work, and is expected to be completed in April or May. At one time a Newberry Co. department store occupied the building.
A ribbon cutting followed at FreeMan Marketing, 7401 Hazel Avenue, #1 (above Orbit Pinball Lounge). Folks celebrated at Maya Cafe (2726 Sutton Boulevard) after both events.
