The Majorette is what the 87-year-old building about a block east of the Maplewood-St. Louis border (7150 Manchester Avenue), will be called when Pat and Carol Schuchard (husband and wife) are finished with its renovation, and Carol said Wednesday it will start look different soon.

“In another couple of weeks we should have drywall up here and start insulating the ceiling, and the glass (in the front) will be in in a couple of weeks, so that will make a huge difference,” she said Wednesday.

They plan to open in January, with a grand opening party. Their first event — for 400 attendees — is booked for February.

    • Mary – Croghan Undertaking Co. was at 7146 Manchester Ave. according to a St. Louis Public Library web page. Looks like this building was most recently the Maplewood Lions Club.
