Thefts of chainsaw, auto parts: police

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Aug. 17

  • Police were dispatched to a Maplewood Commons business for a delayed larceny. Upon reviewing the in-store surveillance footage, it was determined that an adult male suspect had stolen a Husqvarna chainsaw valued at approximately $270. The suspect was last seen wearing blue jean pants, white t-shirt, white tennis shoes and a red baseball style hat. This case is still under investigation.
  • Police were called to a business located in the 7600 block of Manchester road for a lost article report. Upon speaking with the victim, police learned that the victim had lost her wallet approximately one hour prior to police arrival. This case is still under investigation.

Tuesday, Aug. 18

  • Police were dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of Laclede Station for a larceny that just occurred. Upon arrival, police were able to locate an adult female suspect who was in possession of approximately $40 in miscellaneous items. The suspect was arrested for stealing under $500 and was later issued a municipal summons for the offense.

Wednesday, Aug. 19

  • Police were called to a Maplewood Commons business for a larceny report. Upon conducting an investigation, it was determined that the suspect had left the store with approximately $300 in stolen automotive parts. Following an extensive area canvass, police were unable to locate the suspect. This investigation is still on going.

Thursday, Aug. 20

  • Police were called to a Maplewood Commons business for a larceny report. Upon conducting an investigation, police learned that two male subjects had stolen approximately $300 in miscellaneous items. Police were able to identify both suspects from a prior stealing-related incident. Both suspects were entered into the police database as wanted for stealing under $500.
  • Police were called to a business located in the 3200 block of Laclede Station for a larceny report. Through investigation police were able to locate the adult male suspect who was in possession of approximately $300 in clothing items. The identity of the suspect was also discovered after he lied to police and provided false pedigree information. The suspect was arrested for stealing under $500 and giving false information.
