Police report broken business window, vicious cat

The following information was reported by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, July 7

  • Police responded to a business in the 7300 block of Manchester Road for a stealing in progress. Upon arrival they located a male suspect who had approximately $100 worth of stolen alcohol in his possession. He was later arrested for stealing under $500.

Friday, July 8

  • Police began an investigation into a lost women’s wallet that contained several credit cards. The wallet was last seen inside a business in the 2100 block of Maplewood Commons Drive. An area canvass was completed with negative results. This investigation is ongoing.
  • Police arrested two male suspects for stealing approximately $330 worth of merchandise from a business in the 7300 block of Manchester Road. Both suspects provided police with false identities, due to both having active warrants through numerous agencies. Both were arrested for stealing under $500 and giving false information.

Saturday, July 9

  • Police began an investigation into a property damage in the 2700 block of Sutton Avenue. The reporting party said the front window of his business had been shattered. Upon canvassing the area, police were unable to locate any items that would cause such damage.

Sunday, July 10

  • Police began an investigation into a vicious cat that was last seen in the 2400 block of Bellevue Avenue. Through investigation, police discovered that the cat had attacked a pedestrian while walking her dog. The cat is described as being black and white in color with a collar. Following an area canvass, police were able to locate the vicious cat in front of a residence in the 2400 block of Bellevue. Animal control later responded and took custody of the cat.

Tuesday, July 12

  • Police arrested a male suspect for stealing approximately $250 of consumable goods from a Maplewood Commons business.

  1. Any idea what time on Saturday the Sutton damage was done? This vandalism is mindless damage, and citizens need to know and respond if something doesn’t look right. i’m sorry, but it just makes me so annoyed that people work all their lives to be productive. Then slithery slime comes along to damage it. “If i can’t have it for nothing, i won’t let you have it just because you worked for it.” what mentality is THAT??
