U.S. Tim Hortons’ spokeswoman, Brynn Burton, told the Post-Dispatch the St. Louis locations could include standalone restaurants and sites within arenas or hospitals. They’ll be either new construction or existing real estate.

How about Brentwood or Maplewood? How would a Tim Hortons fit into our scene? Have you had a Tim Hortons doughnut?

    • Tom. I tried Strange Donuts, actually 2 times when they first opened and a second time a couple months ago. I expected the first visit to be average at best ,new company. And the 2nd visit was actually worst than the first. Donuts were very dry and just tasted horrible. So I look forward to Horton’s coming to Maplewood. I believe if the strange owners focused more in the product and less on the marketing, they would be getting more favorable reviews.

  1. Being a proud Canadian and living here in St. Louis is wonderful. I used to love the doughnuts, that were made each and every day, in house. Well then it was decided that the doughnuts would be manufactured in a factory, frozen and shipped to individual stores. I did not like the doughnuts anymore after that. Now when it comes to the coffee, cappuccino and hot chocolate, there is not that can beat it. Please Timmy bring back fresh made doughnuts, made in house and I will become a loyal customer once more when you arrive in St. Louis. Got any management positions open from one Canadian to another ? Good luck.

  2. Hmmm donuts grrrrrr [my best Homer Simpson imitation.
My only concern [not really a concern I suppose as im not an investor] is the business plan / model of TH. I loved a hot fresh Krispy Kreme donut almost as much as Elvis did. Where can I get that now!!! They lured me in – I fell in love and their gone.
Poor business plan – they expanded too fast and too soon in many markets.
Anyway, personally, I prefer to shop the indies but if they make a great product, help the local economy and support the community – my belly says “bring em on”
Think I will go get a do nut now!

  3. I’ve eaten a Tim Horton’s donut–when I was on Prince Edward Island in Canada. It was yummy, but standard greasy donut fare. I just happen to love donuts. 🙂
