This summer drivers heading north on Sutton Boulevard at Manchester Road noticed that the new windows at 7401 Manchester Road reflected the signal lights for east-bound Manchester traffic, creating a possibly confusing situation.
In early August the windows were covered with paper. Building owner David Schlafly said the paper was a test.
He said at the time that the Maplewood building department is either installing a louver on the light or relocating it to fix the problem. He said the paper on the windows was to help with with the city’s tests.

Currently plastic is taped to the west-facing lights. It’s an experiment — an attempt at fixing the problem, a city staff member said.
