A corner that has seen three businesses in a little more than three years shows signs of a new tenant, and location on the market for about a year is now represented by a developer with a reputation for making things happen.
Blind Tiger at Sutton Place closed at the corner of Manchester Road and Sutton Boulevard in September, and over the weekend paper went up over the windows. Planning and zoning is scheduled to meet Nov. 3, if anything is in the works.
Matt and Jennifer Williams has had 7434 Manchester on the market for about a year, since Matt moved TKO DJs into their building at 2650 Big Bend. The building on Manchester now has a Schlafly Corporation sign. A source has told 40 South News the building was sold about two weeks ago.
Developer, David Schlafly is finishing up 2808 -2810 Sutton Boulevard, where the Sierra Club, Bridges Community Support Services, Spirited Hands, Bolyard’s Meat & Provisions, Living Room and Urban Breath Yoga has either moved in or plans to.
Schlafly was awarded the Businessperson of the Year by the Maplewood Chamber of Commerce this year.

Mabe Tim Hortons would be interested in the vacant Quick Trip location.
Maybe Tim Hortens would be interested in the now vacant Quick Trip location. Such a good location to remain vacant!
Best comment of them all. Perfect location.
The corner where Blind Tiger was. That corner seems to have a little bad luck for anyone who wants to start a business there. No one seems to last very long. Perhaps the next consideration – a Feng Shui expert or get a some sort of an Exorcism prior to starting a new business? It really hasn’t been a lucky spot. It would be nice to see a new business go in and stay for awhile.
JumpNJupiter had great success there, I think they moved because of a rent increase
oops my bad Wrong business,JumpNJupiter had Business prblems I meant JIVE and Wail, had a great business, they left cause of a rent increase if I recall right.
Ahhh. Yes. I really liked that establishment. Too bad they couldn’t stay.
If I recall correctly, there was a prior business partner of the Jive n Wail that commented on here previously that it was not a rent issue; although he didn’t state the reason.
I really enjoyed seeing Jive n Wail in Maplewood. It was a fun and wonderful establishment.
The two year running Jumpin’ Jupiter Road Show is a highly entertaining theatrical variety show featuring several performers whose talents know no boundaries. (This partial statement came directly from their website). So how long were they really at the Maplewood location?
And, here’s another clip to add – regarding your comment:

It wasn’t because of rent issues.
I’m so excited about all of the new changes and additions in Maplewood! I love being a resident here. It would be nice if a business moved into the old Monarch space as well.
