Greg Mullenix, chief development officer for Equis Hotels, told Richmond Heights city officials Monday at the city’s council meeting that the company’s hotel project at the corner of S. Brentwood Boulevard and Clayton Road is moving forward.
The council met in the city’s courtroom above the police department because the elevator in city hall needed repair.
Mullenix said a large portion of the financing is in place and design and development is moving forward, also that renovation of Homewood Suites is planned. In all it’s a $60 million project.
He said he’s meeting with representatives from two different hotel brands beginning next week. They’re going for an “upper upscale” hotel brand, which is why it’s taken so long. It’s been years in the making.
He said bidding is going out, which along with financing in place, helps on the branding side.
Mullenix said financing should be in place by February 2019 and construction completed by the end of 2020.
Council members also heard the first reading of three bills that together would approve eight single-family townhomes at 7715 – 7729 Dale Avenue. Those were laid over until the council’s next meeting.
Quick question, which corner is it? Is it next to the homewood?
That’s correct – southeast corner.
Thanks. Do you know the view from the image is from Clayton road facing southwest? Also is the cross street in front of the entrance to the new hotel in the picture the street currently in front of the homewood? Thanks again
Sorry – can’t say.
This rendering is facing towards the Galleria. The Homewood Hotel is on the Left, but out of view. Hope this helps!
