Vehicles damaged on Southwest, police say

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Jan. 16

  • An 18-year-old man was arrested for a drug violation near Sunnen Drive and S. Big Bend.
  • A 26-year-old man was arrested for a drug violation and an active warrant through another jurisdiction resulting from a traffic stop conducted by an officer at Lohmeyer and Sutton.
  • Property damage to a vehicle was reported in the 7200 block of Southwest. The unknown suspect(s) pried open a door handle to break into the vehicle. The suspect(s) removed the ignition assembly in an apparent attempt to steal the vehicle.

Friday, Jan. 17

  • A vehicle window was shattered in the area of Southwest and Limit avenues. The damage occurred between 4 p.m. on Jan. 17 and 7:45 a.m. on Jan. 18.

Saturday, Jan. 18

  • Police responded to the 7200 block of Sarah Avenue for a reported disturbance. An investigation revealed that a man and a women had been arguing. The woman voluntarily left the residence. No arrests were made.
  • A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stealing approximately $117 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
