Everyone is invited to a Memorial Day ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 24 at the Mid-County Veterans Memorial Gazebo, on the front lawn of The Heights, in Richmond Heights.
This year’s ceremony will be in recognition of U.S. Navy veterans. The ceremony will also honor Richard F. Provaznik, a Navy veteran who served during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953.
After leaving the Navy, Mr. Provaznik became a lawyer, was mayor of Richmond Heights, and president of the Missouri Municipal League. He was later appointed judge of the Circuit Court of St. Louis County.
