The Maplewood Chamber of Commerce named Vom Fass its business of the year, and owner Anita von Ballmoos missed the chamber meeting on Tuesday at the Schlafly Bottleworks for recognition because she couldn’t escape her busy shop.
Von Ballmoos said later Tuesday afternoon that she was sad she couldn’t make it, but said being recognized is a great honor.
“We put so much hard work in it, and for my employees, that’s a big thank you,” she said.
“We love to be here in Maplewood,” she said. “They always do so many fun events, and include us all the time. Vom Fass is always ready to something fun, and so I’m excited for Saturday for the Sweet Tooth Tour.”
The first annual Sweet Tooth Tour is Saturday, and features nine Maplewood businesses along Manchester Road and Sutton Boulevard with good things to eat and drink.
Vom Fass plans to offer white chocolate chip macadamia nut oil cookies, as well as “some drinks to warm up those people,” von Ballmoos said.
