According to City Manager Amber Withycombe, two Maplewood City Council members whose terms will end in April 2025 have filed to run as incumbents. Councilmembers Eric Page (Ward 2) and Nick Homa (Ward 3) filed for the seats. They will both be running unopposed.
Ward 1 Matt Coriell’s term is also expiring in April but he didn’t file to run again. As occurred in Ward 2 in 2023 when Councilmember Chasity Mattox was seated, because no candidate has filed for the Ward 1 seat, the write-in candidate receiving the most votes will become the Ward 1 Councilmember. Since there will be no candidates on the ballot for the ward, any write-in candidate is eligible, it’s not necessary to file with the election commission.
Update: City Manager Amber Withcombe said at the recent council meeting that she would like anyone seeking to run for the Ward 1 council person as a write-in candidate should come to city hall for a candidate’s guidelines, per the Missouri Ethics Commission.
Ward 1 is the area west of Big Bend Boulevard, with a couple of small exceptions. See a PDF of Maplewood’s wards here.
West of Big Bend, North to city limits on Bredell and some of the area North of Rannells. I’m not sure where the exact line is anymore. Check with city hall.
It is available on the website but does take a few clicks …

It might be wise to inform the public as to the area that Ward 1 covers?
