Brentwood police chief Dan Fitzgerald posted an alert from Missouri American Water on Fri., Aug. 14 warning of people posing as company employees in order to gain access to homes.
The press release states that the water utility company and police have received reports from West County cities of people impersonating Missouri American Water employees in order to enter homes. Real Missouri American Water employees will be driving a vehicle bearing the company’s logo and will have official identification.
Customers should always look for properly identified company vehicles and ask for identification. If customers are suspicious, Missouri American Water encourages them to call the water company at 1-866-430-0820 and local law enforcement as appropriate.
