Weekend of April 12-13: leaving the scene, shoplifting, ID theft at Maplewood Commons

Saturday, April 12

  • An identity theft was reported. Unknown suspect(s) opened an account at Maplewood Commons business in the victim’s name.
  • Police arrested a 23-year-old woman on suspicion of stealing approximately $106 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police arrested a 17-year-old male on suspicion of stealing approximately $129 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police responded to a residence in the 3700 block of Greenwood for a reported disturbance.  An investigation revealed a man and a woman had been arguing. No arrests were made or charges filed.
  • A 24-year-old man was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and tampering first degree through the St. Louis County Prosecuting

Sunday, April 13

  • A 24-year-old driver struck decorative landscaping blocks in front of a Maplewood Commons business and left the scene on foot. Police located the suspect walking in the 7500 block of Folk and arrested him. During the course of the investigation, a resident in the 2200 block of Yale reported a vehicle stolen, which matched the description of the vehicle the driver was operating at the time of the accident.
  • Police arrested a 42-year-old woman on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • A wallet containing several credit cards was taken from a purse at a Maplewood Commons business.
