Eileen Lencz will sell her last hammer for Scheidt True Value Hardware on Wednesday. A party will be held in her honor that day — her last at the shop.
Lencz said she’s been at Scheidt just seven and a half years, and said the party wasn’t her decision.
Scheidt True Value, at 7320 Manchester Road, has gone through some changes in the past year. In October last year Roger McCreight retired from Scheidt after 40 years, in February this year owner Bob Scheidt said he was retiring and would close the store if he couldn’t find a new owner, and in May local contractor George McCandliss said he was interested in buying the store. McCandliss is still there and has said he’s been restocking the shelves.
Come in and wish Eileen a happy retirement on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
I’ve always been impressed with her knowledge and grateful for her assistance.
She has been so helpful to me–very grateful–so glad she gets some “time off”!
