Tuesday, June 23
- Police responded to an address in the 2100 block of Bredell Avenue for a property damage report. The victim told the investigating officer that she heard a loud, unfamiliar noise while inside her residence. Further investigation led police to a broken bedroom window and the discovery of a small rock near the window. This investigation is still ongoing.
Wednesday, June 24
- Police were dispatched to a Maplewood Commons business for a larceny in progress call. Upon arrival, the investigating officer was able to locate an adult male suspect who was in possession of approximately $100 of stolen alcohol. The man was arrested for third degree stealing based upon numerous prior stealing convictions.
Thursday, June 25
- Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Manchester Road at Yale Avenue. Over the course of this traffic stop, police observed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led police to locate several baggies containing a green vegetation-like substance consistent with raw marijuana. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Maplewood Police Department.
Saturday, June 27
- Police were dispatched to a Maplewood Commons business for an attempted strong armed robbery that had just occurred. Police quickly made contact with the female victim who said that an adult black male subject attempted to grab $400 cash out of her hand while she was standing in line at the customer service counter. The victim said that she fought back and was able to retrieve her money. The suspect is described as follows: Black male, low haircut, 5’7-5’10, 160-170 pounds, early 30s – 40s.
