The Wright Specialty Leather Co. sign — on large tiles and masonry on the building at 8300 Manchester Road currently under demolition — have come down as well.
The sign had remained above the front door. It was the last of the building to be knocked down. Saturday morning it was in a pile of rubble.
A man operating an excavator asked the 40 South editor if he was there to claim the sign, and indicated that he didn’t know what the plan was for the sign.
I thought this was to be saved?
What in the world just happened? I previously read the Wright family was going to claim the sign. Now we see it laying in a heap of rubble. Ed, this is a shame and what can you do about it? Such a disappointment!
