Some folks near Maplewood’s Greenwood neighborhood have noticed what looked like fence poles going in along Greenwood Boulevard and the train tracks.
A worker for Imperial Fence said yes, it’s a fence. He’s finished with setting 118 poles, by his estimation, from around Big Bend Boulevard to Shur-Way Auto Body. That’s as far as it will go. He said he had to wheelbarrow the cement up the hill for each one and he’s glad that’s finished.
Maplewood Public Works Director Anthony Traxler said the railroad is putting up the fence on their property to keep people off the tracks.
Thanks, Doug! I knew you would get the scoop on this.
Now folks will have to climb over the fence, too, whenever they need to get across.
Probably a continuing effort to keep people from crossing the tracks at that location. Will be interesting to see if they put one up on the north side too.
