Maplewood Police released photos and described a robbery suspect in a Nov. 6 release. The ‘person of interest’ is suspected of robbing the GameStop in Maplewood and four other area robberies in October.

Police are seeking the identity of an individual responsible for business robberies at the:

  • Maplewood GameStop on 10/10/2018
  • Florissant T-Mobile on 10/12/2018
  • St. Louis City GameStop on 10/17/2018
  • Maplewood Boost Mobile on 10/19/2018
  • Granite City GameStop on 10/30/2018

Maplewood Police reports that in each of the robberies the suspect displayed and threatened employees with a firearm. The suspect stole money from the cash register and in some instances stole video games. Detectives from each jurisdiction and special agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigations are conducting the investigation collectively. In each of the robberies the suspect wore sunglasses and all but one wore a baseball style cap. In the most recent robbery in Granite City the suspect was not wearing a hat and video surveillance captured an image of the suspect as he exited the business.

Video surveillance is available for some of the robberies.

The suspect is described as a black male, medium complexion, wearing sunglasses.

A person of interest (POI) believed to be involved in the robberies was located on video surveillance near a business prior to the Boost Mobile Maplewood robbery. The POI was wearing a dark grey hooded sweatshirt with white strings. Photos of the POI are attached.

GameStop has donated $2,000 to CrimeStoppers for tips leading to the suspect’s arrest.
