Report of “shots fired” in Maplewood

Acting Maplewood Police Chief Matt Nighbor reported on Friday to Maplewood block captains of a report of shots being fired near the 2400 block of Laclede Station Road.

He said on Wednesday, February 23, at approximately 11 p.m., officers responded to the 2400 block of Laclede Station Road for a report of “shots fired”. Maplewood police officers located several shell casings in the area and soon identified the individual(s) responsible for the shots fired.

He said based on the initial investigation, the incident started as a domestic related matter which escalated into an altercation between two men. Soon thereafter, at least one of the men discharged a firearm during the altercation. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing and charges are pending.
