Shooting result of domestic dispute: Maplewood Police

Maplewood Police press release:
Maplewood police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 7300 block of Manchester Rd. at approximately 4:08 pm. Upon their arrival, they found a 26-year-old north St. Louis County man lying on the sidewalk who had sustained gunshot wounds.

Paramedics conveyed the shooting victim to an area hospital where he is undergoing surgery. He is listed in critical condition.

Investigating officers arrested a 31-year-old St. Louis man near the scene for the shooting, which apparently occurred because of a domestic dispute.

Maplewood police detectives are interviewing witnesses to the incident.

On September 23, 2019, warrant application was made through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office by the Maplewood Police Department Detective Bureau relative to a shooting which occurred in the 7300 block of Manchester on September 22,2019.

Warrants were issued for William James Buress, who resides in the 1500 block of Salerno in St. Louis, MO. Buress is charged with Assault 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action. Buress remains in custody with no bond available.

The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition.

  1. Just goes to show you what stupid people with a gun can do. Stupid to let yourself get that worked up, stupid to walk out into the street and fire away not knowing where the bullets are going to. Stupid enough that I now want to know if he has a legally purchased gun or not.

    Had hoped it would not happen in Maplewood but I guess there is not respect for where crime happens.
