Tim Hortons announced last week its first St. Louis location will be in Maplewood, about a block away from the now well-known locally owned shop, Strange Donuts (2709 Sutton Boulevard, Maplewood).

Is the Strange crew worried about the multi-national corporation moving to town? No, co-owner Jason Brockman told the St. Louis Business Journal.

“I welcome them. I don’t think we’re going to change anything we’re doing,” Bockman told the Business Journal. “If people want to have an experience and a made-from-scratch pastry that supports the local community, we’re going to keep doing what we do.”

Brockman said they’ve found that their fans are willing to travel 25 miles to get to the Maplewood shop on Sutton Boulevard.
