The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, March 10

  • Police arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a business in the 7300 block of Manchester Road.
  • Police arrested an intoxicated 29-year-old woman on suspicion of breaking a window of a business in the 7300 block of Manchester Road.
  • Police responded to the 2000 block of Yale Avenue on a suspicious person call.  When they arrived they found the male subject who had apparently been trying to open doors in the building. A records check showed he was wanted out of another county for a felony probation warrant. He was also charged with giving false information to an officer for lying about his name at the time of police contact.
  • Police arrested a 23-year-old woman on suspicion of stealing merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police arrested a 31-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police arrested a 42-year-old man on suspicion of stealing merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Tuesday, March 11

  • Police arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of stealing approximately $348 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police arrested a 50-year-old woman on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.  The woman was also wanted by another agency for an active warrant.
  • Police arrested a 17-year-old man on suspicion of stealing merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police arrested two women and a man on suspicion of stealing approximately $1200 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. The man was wanted by another agency for a failure to appear warrant.  He was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, which was discovered on him at the time of the arrest.  One of the women was also wanted by another agency for felony stealing.

Wednesday, March 12

  • Police responded to the 2200 block of Yale Avenue for a peace disturbance call.  When they arrived they discovered three subjects were arguing. A 25-year-old man at the scene was arrested for a felony parole violation along with multiple other active warrants through other jurisdictions. He was also charged with giving false information to an officer for initially lying about his identity. A 21-year-old woman was also arrested for having an outstanding felony warrant through another jurisdiction.  She was charged with giving false information to an officer for initially lying about her identity as well.
  • Police arrested a 21-year-old woman on suspicion of stealing approximately $189 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police are investigating a leave the scene of a motor vehicle accident that occurred near Hanley and Bernard.  The striking vehicle, a gold-colored car, struck another vehicle and left the scene. There is no license plate or suspect information at this time.

Friday, March 15

  • Police are investigating a delayed larceny report, which occurred in the 7300 block of Manchester Road. Aluminum frames, valued at approximately $1200, was stolen from the rear of a business between March 10-11.
  • Police are investigating a fraudulent use of a credit card, reported on March 14. An acquaintance of the victim fraudulently purchased approximately $300 in merchandise from several Maplewood Commons businesses between Feb. 28 and March 10.
  • Police responded to the 3600 block of Manhattan Avenue for a reported domestic disturbance.  Police made contact with two family members who had been arguing.  The male party left the residence voluntarily.  No arrests were made or charges filed.
  • Police arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
