2 vehicles reported stolen from QuikTrip in past 4 days

The Maplewood Police reported to 40 South News on Wednesday that the department has taken two stolen vehicle reports in the past four days from QuikTrip at 2633 S. Big Bend Boulevard.

In each incident, the victims left their vehicles running while unattended, it’s reported.

  1. Well, this ding a ling had her key fab and didnt know it could be driven away while it wasn’t in the car. It wont happen again.

  2. My remote start has an additional option of letting you remove the ignition key while keeping the car running. This also allows you to lock the doors with the remote while the car is running. Even if someone broke into the car, the car will die as soon as the brake pedal is pressed. I bet most remote starts have this nifty feature. On mine, this feature is activated the exact same way as remote starting, but it is done while the car is running.

    Before I had a remote start, I used to carry a spare key, so I could lock my car while keeping it running.

  3. And the ding-a-ling heads who left their cars running unattended forgot to leave their wallets with a thank you note stating “ Thank you for reminding people like us – that we are stupid and as a bonus reminder of our stupid- please take our money and credit cards too!”
