The Riverfront Times reports on new restaurants, and has covered Robata — opened a few weeks ago in the former Church’s Chicken location on Manchester in Maplewood (7260 Manchester Road).

IMG_1190The RFT reports on Robata:

  • Owned by Thom and Emily Chantharasy, former partners of the now-closed Sekisui
  • The inside seats roughly 35 diners, there’s a patio too
  • Robata’s has a small plate menu — such as fried squid legs, tuna poke or soft shell crab
  • Try the yakitori — skewered meat cooked over a charcoal fire
  • Customize your ramen — pick your noodle, broth, main ingredient and garnishes
  • Open Monday through Thursday from 5-11 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 5 p.m.-12 a.m. Expect crowds
