Police arrest 4 on Sarah in Maplewood

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Feb. 24

  • Two air conditioning units were reported stolen from the 7300 block of Zephyr Place between Feb. 22-24.
  • Police are investigating a fraudulent use of a credit/debit card that occurred at two different Maplewood Commons businesses. On Feb. 2, the credit card was reported stolen from another jurisdiction. The unknown suspect(s) then used the credit card to purchase approximately $554 in merchandise at two Maplewood Commons businesses. Police are reviewing surveillance video in an attempt to identify the suspect(s).

Tuesday, Feb. 25

  • A residential burglary was reported in the 2300 block of Bellevue Avenue. The unknown suspect(s) broke into the residence and stole approximately $400 worth of electronics. The burglary occurred between 8:50 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  • A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stealing merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia discovered on him at the time of the arrest.

Wednesday, Feb. 26

  • Police responded to the 7200 block of Sarah Street for a reported disturbance. A man and woman had been arguing over property. Both were issued summons for failing to obtain occupancy permits. The woman was arrested for several outstanding warrants through other jurisdictions.
  • Police responded to the 7200 block of Sarah Street for a reported disturbance. Police found an intoxicated male subject creating the disturbance. A computer inquiry revealed the 24-year-old man was wanted by another agency for an active warrant. He was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was additionally charged with failure to comply.

Thursday, Feb. 27

  • Police responded to the 7200 block of Sarah Street for a reported fight in a parking lot.  Upon arrival, police located four subjects and noticed personal property on the ground of the parking lot. An investigation revealed a 26-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were involved in a disturbance over personal property. The two parties had recently been involved in a relationship. Both subjects were arrested for disorderly conduct.

Friday, Feb. 28

  • A leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident was reported in the 3200 block of Laclede Station Road. An unknown vehicle struck a parked vehicle in a parking lot.  There is no suspect vehicle information at this time.

Saturday, March 1

  • A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion off stealing approximately $1000 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. He was also wanted by another agency for stealing. The case will be forwarded to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in consideration of felony theft charges.
  • A leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident occurred in the area of S. Big Bend Boulevard and Williams Avenue.  A vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle which left the scene. Police were able to locate the driver of the striking vehicle because a license plate was obtained. A 20-year-old man was charged.
