7 arrested for shoplifting at Maplewood Commons last Friday and Sunday

Maplewood Commons and Brentwood Pomenade have seen more crime as the holidays approach.

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Nov. 29

  • Two men were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • A 45-year-old
    man was arrested on suspicion of stealing approximately $90 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Saturday, Nov. 30
  • A 36-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Sunday, Dec. 1

  • A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 2100 block of Yale Avenue. The reporting party told police during the overnight hours, someone entered his vehicle and stole the vehicle’s registration papers along with multiple CD’s.  It is unknown how the suspect(s) got into the vehicle.
  • Two vehicle were reportedly broken into between 9 p.m. on Nov. 29 and 6 p.m. on Dec. 1 in the 7100 block of South Street.  The suspect(s) shattered a window on both vehicles.  CD’s and sunglasses were stolen.
  • A 29-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of stealing merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. She was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia which was discovered on her person at the time of the arrest.
