$18,000 charged at Galleria on stolen debit card info: police

Monday, July 21

• Macy’s security detained a man for stealing $248 in merchandise. The suspect was arrested and held on a warrant application.

Wednesday, July 23

• The victim reported that someone used her debit card information to make over $18,000 in withdrawals at the Galleria from her checking account.
• Macy’s security detained a man for stealing $150 in merchandise. The suspect was arrested and later released on a summons.
• Dillards security detained a woman for stealing $1691 in merchandise. She was also determined to have been banned from all Galleria property. The suspect was arrested.  A state warrant application on the stealing charge will be made on later date.

Thursday, July 24

• The victim reported that person(s) unknown damaged the windshield on his vehicle in the 7500 block of Council.
• The victim reported that he purchased a cell phone from someone at the Galleria that was determined to be stolen. Investigation identified the suspect who is currently being sought.

Friday, July 25

• Macy’s security detained woman for stealing $196 in merchandise. The suspect was arrested and later released on a summons.

Saturday, July 26

• Investigation into a traffic offense at Bellevue at LaVeta found the driver to be intoxicated. The driver was arrested for suspicion of DWI and later released on a summons.

• Victim reported that someone had shattered the windshield of his vehicle while it was parked in the 7700 block of Dale on the street overnight.

• Officers responded for the report of “shots fired” in the 1000 block of Yale. They made contact with a resident who admitted to firing his personal handgun in the direction of someone that he thought was trespassing on his property. The resident was arrested.

Sunday, July 27

• Officers responded for a single vehicle accident at I-64 at Hanley where investigation found the driver of the vehicle to be intoxicated. The driver was arrested and was later released on summonses.
• An officer patrolling the 8100 block of Elinor discovered damage to the windshields of two construction trucks on the Menards work site.
• Victim reported that someone entered his vehicle in the Galleria garage and stole a laptop and clothing from the trunk.

Monday, July 28

• An officer was alerted to the presence of a stolen auto in the 1300 block of Hawthorne via his patrol vehicle’s LPR system. The vehicle was recovered unoccupied and had been reported stolen by the St. Louis County PD.
• Dillard’s security detained man for stealing $88 in merchandise. The suspect was arrested and later released on a summons.

Tuesday, July 29

• Officers responded to the area for a suspicious person in the 200 block of Del Norte. The officers located a subject inside a stolen vehicle who fled from and eluded officers on foot. During the investigation a vehicle was discovered to have been entered and had items stolen from inside it. The suspect had been located again just outside the city limits after having stolen another vehicle. He fled the area making good his escape. The suspect was ultimately identified as is currently being sought.

• Victim, in the 2300 block of Bellevue, reported that someone had used her personal identification information to file a fraudulent 2013 tax return.
• Victim, 1500 block of Collins, reported that someone had used her personal identification information to file a fraudulent 2013 tax return.
