Maplewood Police cars have been parked on Marietta Avenue this week watching traffic. The residents have been talking with the department and Ward 3 council member Jenny Schmidt about how to control speeding traffic in the morning.

A family heads to a bus stop Wednesday morning on Marietta Avenue – walking by a police car — he stopped them to hand out coloring books.

  1. Could police possibly park in a parking space on the parking lot and not be so noticeable. There is a speed limit sign on south side of Marietta. closer to Sutton.

  2. I have been begging Maplewood for 2 years to do something about people spending down my street!! I live on Sarah behind Shapley’s and cars drive down my street easily going 50 miles an hour! There are a lot of children that live on this street that enjoy playing outside and it is such a danger to our families people driving at such high speeds! Maplewood only came out one time and talked to me about this, I was promised they were going to put a speed horse to record speeders but they never did and they never patrol my street or park and radar! All my neighbors have complained about this and I don’t know why nothing is being done with our street!!!!
