A Cherokee Street restaurant, Athlete Eats, which caters to St. Louis professional athletes that announced in October its second location will open in Brentwood this spring has been reviewed in the New York Times.

The St. Louis Blues order their postgame meals from Athlete Eats; Jon Jay and other Cardinals, and Rams players eat there, according to the NYT.

Athlete Eats offers gluten-free and mostly Paleo dishes. Among them, reviewed by the NYT, free-range Amish chicken thighs—marinated for 24 hours in garlic, onions and soy milk, then simmered for three hours; and a bunless bulgogi burger— grass-fed chuck from a local farm, ground twice and mixed with apple, garlic, sesame and other Korean spices.

In addition to the second location, promised to be in Brentwood but not yet revealed, the owner plans a food truck. The new location was listed at one of the “most anticipated” restaurant openings for 2015 in St. Louis Magazine.

Athlete Eats is at 2837 Cherokee Street. An average meal for two, without drinks or tip, is $30.
