Due to the current need for social distancing many restaurants and other small businesses have gone to curbside delivery, or have closed down totally for now. It’s evident all over downtown Maplewood.
Maplewood City Hall will also be closed and remain closed until further notice, the city announced on Sunday—the result of a a stay at home order in St. Louis County and the City of St. Louis beginning Monday, March 23.
Richmond Heights City Hall closed to visitors as of Thursday, March 19 and The Heights Community Center and Memorial Library closed Tuesday, March 17.
The city of Brentwood says online that it is: “taking steps in an effort to protect the well-being of the public and City employees.”
These are some of the signs seen on businesses in Maplewood, in alphabetical order — many are closed, some open. Many restaurants are offering curbside pickup or delivery.

All beauty salons, nail salons, and tattoo parlors are required to close under mandatory closure. There is no way they can be 6 foot from their clients.

So Blend, a salon is an “essential business”? Pretty sure beauty salons are on the list of non essential businesses. A record store delivering curbside is prob not essential either.
I sure hope the city will put pressure on property owners to work with local businesses during this crisis. It would be a shame to see local businesses shut down because they aren’t able to pay their rent in the short term. Social distancing is very important to slow the spread of COVID-19 so hospitals are not overwhelmed.
Doug could you interview city leaders (remotely) to see what steps they are taking?
Not everyone on lock down. C Oliver having a wedding reception Sunday night with way more than 10 people. This is a serious pandemic and this business is not taking our public health serious!
Really??? As a freelance musician, a large chunk of my income was taken away because of the limit of 50 and then limit of 9 or 10. Weddings? Gone or rescheduled. Church gigs? Gone. Forget Easter and Holy Week, normally a big boost to my income. Concerts? Gone. Nothing in April. Jobs in May are getting postponed or canceled. At the same time, my wife is in a high risk health category. You’d think we should get a break in bills, but no, they keep showing up in my mailbox. These are stressful times with a disease that is very life threatening.
Great to get these phone numbers. Thank you! A complete list would be appreciated! Got some food from the Post but sometimes online and phones can be tricky. BUT we need to patronize our Maplewood businesses!

Keep supporting local restaurants as small businesses to the extent that you can. We are the fabric of our community
