The owner of the Looking Meadow Cafe announced on Facebook that she is closing the cafe due to a divorce agreement that forces her to resume her previous career. She is looking for someone to resume the lease. She only opened in October last year.

The owner (Jamie Herman) said on Facebook: “I’m utterly bummed, but I am hopeful to find the right person to take over my beloved cafe. While I’m not selling Looking Meadow LLC or the business name, I am looking for someone to resume the lease and buy the FFE’s to have a turnkey space ready to go for the next awesome cafe.”

Also, Sauce Magazine has reported that a new bar and lounge will open in the basement area of Majorette, the event space at 7150 Manchester Avenue (in St. Louis, just east of Maplewood). According to Sauce, owner Pat Schuchard is calling it cocktail lounge, but in addition there will be pool tables, shuffleboard, foosball, darts and a coffee-table of things like Jenga and checkers.

  1. Sorry to see it didn’t make it. We have never been to this shop since Stone Spiral closed. The business hours were all wrong for people with 9-5 employment.

  2. It’s a great location! Sorry it has to close; however I found the menu to specialized to be a neighborhood coffee bar.
