The space was once a Lion’s Club dance hall. Pat and Carol Schuchard bought the 12,000 square foot property for $370,000, which includes a 150-space parking lot.

The STL Today post states the building is “almost directly on” the Maplewood – St. Louis border, though it is wholly in St. Louis.

Hilliker Corp., which brokered the deal, told STL Today the Schuchards will give the building a $250,000 renovation and open in January.

  1. This renovation could be a big game-changer for the eastern end of the “Maplewood Strip”. Hopefully this will jump start the rehabilitation of buildings around here. Plus maybe we’ll get rid of some of the used car lots that make this section of Manchester kind of unappealing.
