Felony narcotics, thefts in Maplewood: police

The following information was reported by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, March 7

  • Police began a fraud investigation that occurred at a business in the 2600 block of Big Bend. An unknown person used a credit card belonging to the victim for approximately $326. This investigation is ongoing.

Tuesday, March 8

  • Police were called to a Maplewood Commons business for a larceny in progress. Through investigation, patrol units located the suspect, who had approximately $120 in stolen merchandise in his possession. All items were returned to the business.

Thursday, March 10

  • Police began an investigation into a reported stolen purse last seen at a Maplewood business. While conducting an investigation the victim re-contacted police advising that she found her purse with no contents missing.

Saturday, March 12

  • Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Bellevue for a suspicious occupied vehicle report. Patrol units found the vehicle in question and began their investigation. While doing so a large amount of felony narcotics were located inside the vehicle. The suspect was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance.

Monday, March 14

  • Police were dispatched to the 7300 block of Manchester for a motor vehicle accident. Through investigation police discovered that one of the drivers had been operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and subsequently had a felony narcotic in his/her possession. The driver was arrested for DWI and possession of a controlled substance.
