While two electronic cigarette shops are set to open soon in Maplewood, another opened in the end of April in Brentwood. St. Louis Vapor, at 2516 S. Brentwood Boulevard, is between Radio Shack and Cheveux, across from the Recreation Center.
The shop’s more than 300 tobacco flavors of the liquid used in the electronic cigarettes are blended by a federally licensed chemist employed by the company, according to employee, Jeff McCoy.
St. Louis Vapor has shops in O’Fallon, MO, Hazelwood, South County, St. Charles, Chesterfield, Eureka, and now Brentwood.
“The e-cig business is very good – people want to quit smoking,” McCoy said. “Saved my life. I haven’t smoked a cigarette since I started.”
He said the advantage of e-cigarettes is that they don’t have the tar or carcinogens found in regular cigarettes.
“All you’re getting is the nicotine, and that’s the whole trick to quitting — getting your nicotine without smoking the cigarettes with all the hazardous chemicals,” McCoy said.
