photo(8)Danielle Toran has been a hair dresser 10 years.

She worked at Salon Lofts in Maplewood six months and Be Salon in Clayton the two years before that. In June saw what is now her space, available at the south end of Sutton Boulevard.

She liked the location, but wasn’t sure about finances. She said she looked into it and within 45 days it was hers. She named it Cashmere Hair Studio. The Maplewood Chamber of Commerce helped her cut the ribbon Thursday.

Toran said she’s been doing hair for 10 years; eight of those in Clayton. The majority of her clients are from Clayton and Chesterfield.

She said she named it Cashmere to give it a different vibe. “Women always want soft, luscious, shiny hair. So I thought I need something that embodies that,” she said.

“It’s a hair studio, it’s compact,” she said. “It’s a nice, intimate place. You can get in, get out.”

She has some exciting things going on. One of her hair dressers did a show with the Dr. Phil Show recently. Also, next week Toran will be on channels 2 and 11 news talking about holiday hair styles.

She said she’s done Fox 2 News reporter Shirley Washington’s hair for eight years.

Toran specializes in all methods of hair extensions. Cashmere is at 3155 Sutton Boulevard, open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Appointments are preferred, the number is 314-646-8065.
