The previous house at 8838 Harrison Avenue, Brentwood, was demolished in April 21013 the Brentwood Historical Society reported. The lot was sold for $67,000 in December 2012, according to St. Louis County records.
The new home is on the market for $499,900, has four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The first floor has hardwood flooring throughout, 9-foot ceilings, and arched openings. The kitchen has 42-inch cabinets, granite counter tops, stainless appliances, large pantry and breakfast bar, according to Hermann London.
I’m surprised to see someone pay that much for a house there….that’s a half million dollars. I’m sure the other houses are no where near that, and if they are….that’s too much…..just saying. Everyone to their own thing, I guess….
I live across the street. The old house was a complete dump and not worth the cost to fix. It definitely brought down the neighborhood value. The new one, while large, is nicer and cleaner in every way.
Btw, the owner had a Land Rover and a Porsche.
I liked it better before. Let me guess, the new owner has BMW.
I know people don’t want 2-bedroom bungalows, but we have this problem in Webster, too. Some of these new houses are just massive compared to both the neighbors’ houses and the lots they are on. They look ridiculous.
