Big Shark Bicycle closed its doors in University City Wednesday after 23 years, and will reopen Saturday at their new location, the old Hi-Fi Fo-Fum building at 1155 South Big Bend Road, they announced on Twitter. The store will be in the north, one-story building. The two-story building was demolished for a parking lot.
Parking difficulties in the Loop was the reason for the move.
“We look forward to serving you at what we hope will be a more convenient and accessible location,” Big Shark said in its newsletter. They plan a grand opening Saturday, April 23 from 6 to 9 p.m.
